🎸 The Girl Behind the Mask 🎭

Hello everyone! I’m super excited to share my latest cosplay photoshoot of Wakaba Mutsumi (若葉睦) from BanG Dream! Ave Mujica! For those who don’t know, Mutsumi is the soft-spoken rhythm guitarist who goes by the stage name Mortis in the band. With her straight light green hair, sleepy golden eyes, and that signature small white barrette, she’s absolutely adorable yet mysterious!

What makes Mutsumi such an interesting character is her complex personality. Behind her quiet demeanor lies a fascinating story - as revealed in the anime, she deals with dissociative identity disorder, with her alter Mortis being more outgoing and protective. This duality was something I really wanted to capture in this photoshoot!

💄 Makeup Magic ✨

For this cosplay, we tried a bold new approach to recreate the anime’s distinctive visual effects. The makeup artist from experimented with techniques that brought the 2D character to life in an unexpected way! The results were absolutely amazing in person, though it definitely challenged our photographer’s skills.

Fortunately, our talented photographer handled it with ease, completing the shoot effortlessly with remarkable results. I’m really hoping we can collaborate again in the future! The post-production work by @十亿ᜊ꒦ິ^꒦ິᜊ really brought everything together perfectly.

🎵 Why Mutsumi? 🎵

While I’m not a traditional band enthusiast, I’ve really fallen in love with BanG Dream! series, particularly the Ave Mujica anime. Among all the characters, Mutsumi’s story resonated with me the most. There’s something about her journey and personality that feels relatable, reminding me of my own somewhat complicated past.

I love how the character balances her quiet, reserved nature with the passionate musician inside. As the daughter of famous celebrities (her father is the comedian Wakaba Takafumi and her mother is the actress Mori Minami), she deals with the pressure of fame while finding her own voice through music.

🌟 Behind The Scenes 🌟

Getting the costume details right was quite challenging! From her navy blue plaid dress with that distinctive off-white ruffled collar to the teal bow and black choker with white ruffles - every element required attention to detail. The most difficult part was probably recreating her stage persona with the lace mask that covers most of her face except for the eyes.

This cosplay experience was truly special! I’m grateful to everyone who helped make it happen. What characters would you like to see me cosplay next? Perhaps another Ave Mujica member, or someone from a completely different series?
